Maintenance Works on the Po River to Protect the A7 Motorway Bridge

Regular maintenance of riverbanks is a fundamental activity for the prevention of hydrogeological risk, especially near infrastructures such as bridges and communication routes. Continuous intervention in these areas helps preserve the stability and functionality of the surrounding engineering works.

In this context, maintenance operations on the banks of the Po River are continuing at the location of the A7 Motorway Bridge, in a section managed by Milano Serravalle - Milano Tangenziali S.p.A. The ongoing works include the reshaping and arrangement of the embankments - an operation known as re-profiling - aimed at strengthening the banks and regulating the flow of water.

An additional distinctive element of this phase of the works is the use of a pontoon, a flat vessel specifically employed to allow operations directly on the riverbed. This technical choice enables targeted and precise intervention, even in areas that would otherwise be difficult to access, increasing the effectiveness of protection and consolidation efforts.
