The ordinary maintenance work on the overpass of Via Ecologia in the municipality of Rozzano, on the A50 Western Ring Road of Milan, has been completed. The work was directed by the concessionaire Milano Serravalle – Milano Tangenziali S.p.A. and designed by Milano Serravalle Engineering, which also oversaw site safety.
The interventions involved the cortical restoration of the abutments and the structural reinforcement of some beams damaged by vehicle impacts through the application of carbon fiber fabrics combined with epoxy resins. The outermost beams were also protected from potential future damage by installing special Corten steel casings. Finally, a painting treatment was carried out to preserve the surfaces and restore the original appearance of the structure.
